Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee of Nassau County, Inc.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Birthday Celebration Committee is dedicated to serving our community annually by providing Nassau County youth with scholarships each year. Student applications are provided to schools and returned by recommendation. An awards panel team led by Wilma Tootle, Retired Educator Uniondale Schools awards the select recipients of scholarships at the Annual Commemorative Marriot Hotel Scholarship Luncheon event held each January, the national holiday of Dr. King's celebrated birthday. The Birthday Celebration Committee has been widely-recognized as the best of its kind. Sponsorship growth has seen a steady pace.
With this growth, we have been able to accomplish more, by giving more to help accomplish students to their full-potential and to their 'Living the Dream' inspired so by King.
To make a larger impact upon our community, we welcome you with open arms.
Please inquire today about how you can become a part of Dr. King's legacy, while giving exposure to your company or organization and helping youth and improving our communities through scholarship.
We are always looking for community-based volunteers as well. Volunteers aid the community in various ways. To learn more, call (516) 572-1943, or email rmcrae@nassaucountyny.gov
